Καλό Μηνα! Or Happy New Month, as we say in Greek. In this week’s newsletter, we’re sharing with you a weather report for this week, detailed insights on the three main Greek tax incentives from article 5A, 5B and 5C of the ITC, as well as what’s happening in Athens during the month of April.

🌨️ This Week’s Weather Report

Rain & Storms on April 4th:

  • Showers are expected to increase around midday, particularly in the central and northern regions.

  • Crete will also see periods of rain, with a chance of isolated thunderstorms.

Temperatures:

  • Western Macedonia: 5-14°C

  • Northern Greece & Thrace: 7-20°C

  • Thessaly & Epirus: 7-19°C

  • Central Greece & Peloponnese: 8-20°C

  • Aegean Islands: 10-18°C

  • Crete: 9-20°C

The Greek Income Tax Code (ITC) includes special provisions under Articles 5A, 5B, and 5C, offering significant tax breaks in Greece for new residents, digital nomads, entrepreneurs and foreign investors.

 Investors (Article 5A): €500K investment unlocks a flat annual €100K tax on foreign income for 15 years.

Benefit from a 0% tax on capital gains and a 5% tax on dividends.

 Retirees (Article 5B): 7% flat tax on global pension income for 15 years.

 Professionals (Article 5C): 50% tax exemption for new residents working in Greece as employees hired by a Greek company or freelancers who have established their sole trader businesses. (Note: Digital Nomad Visa holders are not eligible under this program).

📌 In order to apply and benefit from the above tax incentives, you must transfer your tax residency to Greece and apply by March 31st of the relevant tax year.
