AMA number and Golden Visa applications surge

Dear fellow expats,

In this week’s newsletter, we’re bringing you weekly updates as well as some important administrative insights.

🤔Did you know?

There are two types of AMA numbers in Greece. The first and most common AMA, is the “Arithmos Mitrou Asfalismenon" (“Μητρώο Ασφαλισμένων”). This number is a national insurance number that gives foreign residents the right to work in Greece, and is usually provided by a Greek employer after receiving a job offer. Meanwhile, the Arithmos Mitrou Akinitou("Αριθμός Μητρώου Ακινήτου"), which holds the same AMA abbreviation, is a property registry number used for owning and leasing Airbnbs or short-term rentals.
