Did you know? Greece developed into a top destination for Digital Nomads

Greece has rapidly evolved into a major hub for digital nomads since the introduction of the Digital Nomad Visa in 2021. The growth is supported by improved infrastructure, collaborative workspaces, and strong local hospitality initiatives.

  • Applications for the visa jumped from 10 in 2021 to ~595 in 2022, and numbers continue rising.

  • Top hubs: Athens, Thessaloniki, Crete (Heraklion, Chania), Syros/Ermoupolis, and Kalamata — all promoting “Work From” projects.

  • The average nomad is 30–40 years old, highly educated, and works in IT, marketing, design, or startups.
