⚠️ Greece Passes New Law Affecting Digital Nomad Visa Applicants

🚨In-Country Digital Nomad Applications Are Being Abolished

👋 Hey there expats,

As of yesterday, the Greek government has officially passed a new law that abolishes the ability to apply for the 2-year Digital Nomad residence permit from within Greece. This means the widely used “tourist entry + in-country application” route has ended.

👉 What does this mean for applicants going forward?

Under the new law, Digital Nomad applicants will be required to apply for a National (Type D) Visa at a Greek Consulate or Embassy before entering Greece. In practice, this removes the flexibility that many remote workers previously relied on.

⚠️ What This Means If You’re Planning a Move

If Greece is on your near-term radar, this change significantly impacts when and how you apply. Waiting too long could mean being locked into a consular process that is often slower, more document-heavy, and dependent on appointment availability in your home country.

If you need professional assistance with starting your Digital Nomad Visa application under the new law, you can reply to this newsletter, or book a 15-minute free discovery call.
